The district of Stendal regularly informs affected school and club representatives about the status of the renovation work on the sports hall at the "Karl Marx" secondary school in the Hanseatic town of Osterburg. At the last on-site meeting at the end of October 2025, it looked as though partial use of the hall would be possible from the winter vacations. Recent consultations with the companies involved have now revealed that the first construction phase will not be completed on time by the end of January. "Due to supply bottlenecks for important spare parts, the work has been delayed - unfortunately," regrets Janine Behrendt. The Head of Building Construction and Facility Management at the district administration provides information on the current schedule, which now envisages partial commissioning from April. "At this point, we are relying on the understanding of all those involved that we have no direct influence on such things," says Behrendt. The school and club representatives have already been informed by the responsible department.
