When the law "Saxony-Anhalt Green Belt - From Death Strip to Lifeline" came into force on November 9, 2019, establishing the Green Belt as a National Natural Monument, Section 7 (1) GBG LSA requires the creation of a maintenance, development and information plan (PEIP) to ensure uniform development in line with the conservation purposes.
The PEIP creates a coordinated data and action basis for the conservation of the Green Belt and the development of the area. The objectives set out in the law are substantiated by the PEIP.
Interested citizens, institutions, and authorized users have the opportunity to view the plan and submit comments between January 26 and February 28, 2026.

The deadline for submitting comments ends 14 days after the end of the exhibition, i.e. on March 14, 2026.
In addition to publication on the Internet, the plan is also available in analog form in the districts of Harz, Börde, Altmarkkreis Salzwedel and Stendal. It can be viewed there during the normal business hours of the respective district administrations.
Public consultation ensures the participation of the public and the relevant public authorities. The aim is to make the development and protection of the Green Belt Saxony-Anhalt National Natural Monument transparent and to incorporate suggestions and comments from the public and specialist institutions.
