Service description
If you would like to be self-employed in the traveling trade, you generally need a traveling trade card.
You are engaged in a traveling trade if you offer your services or goods outside your commercial establishment without a prior order or carry out an entertaining activity as a showman or showwoman or in the manner of a showman or showwoman.
For example
- as a showman or showwoman,
- as a "flying trader" or
- as the owner of a market stall.
The traveling trade license is generally valid indefinitely. However, it may be issued for a limited period if this is necessary to protect the general public or consumers.
If you have a temporary travel trade license and wish to extend it, you must apply to the competent authority.

Your temporary travel trade license will expire shortly.
What documents are required?
- Travel trade card
- Identity card or passport with registration certificate
- Certificate of good conduct for submission to an authority (document type OG)
- Information from the central trade register
- In the case of legal entities, documents must be submitted for all persons authorized to represent the company in accordance with the law, articles of association or partnership agreement
- If applicable, an excerpt from the commercial or association register, if the company is entered in the register;
- for GmbH & Co. KG corresponding excerpt
- only for activities with open food or dishes: Certificate from the public health department confirming instruction in accordance with the Infection Protection Act or official health certificate
