A career as an educator is anything but boring. When you work as an educator, no two days are the same. It is a varied profession in which you can use your talents. If you play an instrument, you can make music together with the children, if you like playing soccer, the kids will be happy to have a fair opponent and if you like reading, you are sure to find an enthusiastic audience here. But it's also a job that challenges you. You are an essential reference person for the children and young people and have the great task of recognizing and promoting their very personal strengths and abilities. You help them to develop their potential and personality in a positive way. And you support them in gradually taking responsibility for themselves and their environment. In all of this, you are a decisive role model for them, from whom they learn every day.

1. Meet the admission requirements for completing the in-service training to become an educator at the BSZ of the district of Stendal*
2. Personal and health suitability for the above-mentioned activities (including proof of an extended certificate of good conduct)

*Admission is open to anyone with a secondary school leaving certificate or an educational qualification recognized as equivalent

              And further requirements

1. Successfully completed full-time school education with the qualification "State-certified social assistant" or "State-certified childcare worker" or
2. Another relevant social pedagogical, pedagogical social care or nursing training of at least two years, completed full-time school or vocational training or
3. Successful completion of a two-year technical secondary school in the field of health and social services or
4. Successful completion of a technical secondary school in any other subject area and one year of practical experience in the aforementioned field or
5. The general university and one year of practical experience in the aforementioned field

We train educators in the dual system. The theoretical vocational training takes place in block lessons at the vocational school center of the district of Stendal (BSZ) or at the upper level center of the district of Prignitz in Wittenberge. The practical part of the training takes place in one of the 9 day care centers or 2 after-school care centers in the Seehausen (Altmark) municipality. The areas of responsibility during the training include

1. Supporting the pedagogical team in the entire day-to-day life of the daycare center (pedagogical, nursing and housekeeping activities)
2. Needs-oriented and attentive interaction with the children
3. Being a role model for young people
4. Care, support and encouragement of children in daycare centers
