The starting point was at 9 a.m. at the Postplatz in the Hanseatic town of Seehausen (Altmark). In friendly spring weather, the tour led towards Havelberg, via Schönberg along the dyke to the Haus der Flüsse.
The ride was part of a star tour: other cycling groups from various places in the district - including Arneburg, Stendal and the Havelberg area - set off at the same time. The aim was to cycle to Havelberg independently of each other and come together there.
The Seehausen group reached the Haus der Flüsse at around 12 noon, where numerous other participants had already arrived. On site, there was the opportunity to enjoy a picnic together and chat with the other groups. Interested parties were also able to take part in guided tours of the House of Rivers. Catering was also provided: cakes, ice cream and coffee were offered and well received.
After a break, the group set off on the return journey at around 2 pm. The day ended with a get-together at the Anglerheim in Neukirchen.
The Elbe Cycling Day once again proved to be a successful event this year, combining sporting activity with an experience of nature and regional encounters.
