The district administration organized the first training and internship fair in 2026.
In the sports hall of the "Karl Marx" secondary school in Osterburg on Wednesday morning, 40 companies and institutions presented themselves at this year's training and internship fair organized by the district of Stendal in the Hanseatic town. Around 400 pupils from Seehausen Community School, Goldbeck Secondary School, Osterburg Special School, Osterburg Secondary School and Osterburg Grammar School took up the offer. The district administration's business development department provided buses for the schools from outside the district.
Together with principal Doreen Melms, Nico Schulz welcomed all exhibitors and the first classes. The mayor of the unified municipality of Hansestadt Osterburg emphasized that the "proverb 'craftsmanship has golden soil' is true", as it offers secure career prospects. Melms conveyed greetings from Patrick Puhlmann, the district administrator, who was unable to attend and thanked all the exhibitors for taking the time to help the next generation. She did not fail to mention that the secondary school students provide catering during the training and internship fair.

This year, the exhibiting companies and institutions once again came up with a number of ideas to keep the students' attention. One electrical company let the pupils try out the hot wire, while other companies gave them the chance to handle or marvel at large appliances. There was a forage harvester in front of the hall, with which an agricultural company attracted attention right from the start. The mobile youth employment agency, an institution of the job center, employment agency and district of Stendal, was also represented with a stand.
Plans are already underway for the Stendal district’s second apprenticeship and internship fair in 2026. It will take place on Wednesday, June 10, in the Hanseatic city of Stendal.
