As part of this project, the Stendal-Osterburg Water Authority is replacing the drinking water supply line, including the residential connections. The Hanseatic City of Osterburg is also constructing new bus stops. On Wednesday, Patrick Puhlmann visited the site to check on the progress of the work. The district administrator learned the following: “Everything is proceeding according to schedule so far,” said Thomas Müller. The head of the Road Construction Office explained the current steps involved in the excavation work. “Next, curbs will be installed in August,” Müller said. By then, the new road will already be taking shape. Puhlmann expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the construction work is proceeding as planned.
The entire renovation of the town thoroughfare will take place while the road is fully closed to traffic. Local public transportation will continue to operate as usual. Completion of the entire project is scheduled for the end of 2026. The cost of the construction project totals approximately 2.25 million euros. Of this amount, approximately 1.86 million euros will be covered by the Stendal district and financed through the state allocation for investments in district roads. The Stendal-Osterburg Water Authority is contributing 336,000 euros, and the Hanseatic City of Osterburg is contributing an additional 57,000 euros.
