Event on June 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., City Hall, Markt 1, Conference Room 201, 39539 Havelberg
The list of injustices is long: political imprisonment, psychological persecution, unjustified confinement in homes or institutions, forced resettlements, expropriations, denial of educational opportunities and school diplomas, state-sponsored doping, and much more. For the Hanseatic City of Havelberg and the district of Stendal, the Commissioner of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, once again in cooperation with the Hanseatic City of Havelberg, offers consultations specifically on the following topics: Criminal and professional rehabilitation, recognition of health-related sequelae, compensation for forced resettlement from the border region, psychosocial support, and access to Stasi files. During the consultation, those affected also receive support in coming to terms with their own political persecution.
Important note: On July 1, 2025, numerous improvements regarding rehabilitation and compensation for victims of SED injustices took effect; the range of services has been expanded. Consultations are individual and, of course, confidential. Since consultations take place in one-on-one meetings, advance registration is required. Regular office hours apply for registration.
